A Violent Society

Why isn't work done to investigate what common denominators are present in violent people? If this study was conducted, parents and society might know better what to do (or not to do) with their children to prevent any violence in their personalities in the future. And we could be doing something extremely helpful for ourselves and our future with all this knowledge we have.

Or we can keep punishing violence and not attempting to understand it, continuing this sick cycle.

Moderation In Moderation

A good point made by Riah recently: if everything should be in moderation, then shouldn't moderation also be done in moderation? We think so. So don't feel bad about your extremes and sluggish times - you are only practicing a healthy dose of non-moderation, yes? Surely.

I just learned that someone famous also said this.  But neither Riah nor I knew, so here's to our original famous thoughts.

i think many tourists to places such as Yellowstone National Park would pay a pretty penny for a sort of bear protection shell. I imagine something that is carried like a backpack, and that can be pulled down over the body on all sides if and when threatened by a bear (or other threatening species, including humans, I'm sure). It would of course have to be made of some pretty hearty material, and it might be good to be a full box upon completion, because staking wouldn't probably hold up to a bear's brute strength.

Bears are a threat, my friends. We must do all we can.
